The 1840's dam

Taken 1969-12-31 16:00:00-08

This dam is usually under water, but due to the current low water level of The Clinton River in October 2022 it is visible. It created still water up stream so the canal boat (Uncle Peter) could float across the river and proceed about 200 yards farther east on the Clinton and Kalamazoo Canal before it met the other loop of the river. The dam also backed up the river for the mill races in the Village of Frederick.
