Great Blue Herons

Herons nest all along the Clinton River. They are huge birds and protect their young from attacking

red tail hawks by sitting on their nests with their beaks pointed upward. The hawks wheel and soar

over the nests looking for an opportunity to dive. It would seem logical that they would look for

more easy pickings for dinner.
