The Clinton Township Historical Commission hires a professional archaeologist to conduct our research. We often find FCR's in the area the former Village of Frederick and along the Clinton River. FCR's are fire cracked rock, which is rock that has cracked from intense heat. Indians would heat rocks and drop them in boiling bags to cook their food, or the rocks would crack from being around cooking fires.
