The Sons of Union Veterans conducted a final, but belated observance for John Beutel 1844-1917 by

placing a military grave marker and conducting a memorial service on October 15, 2005. John Beutel,

an ancestor of Clinton Township Historical Commission member, Dr Carl Becker, was a Civil War Veteran

and later a Clinton Township resident who farmed near Canal and Garfield Roads. Type CIVIL in the
